Life Coaching Is Not Therapy!
While psychologists have influenced the focus of life coach training, you should be aware that it differs from therapy. Psychotherapy typically involves one’s behavioral or emotional difficulties and disturbing situations. Therapy typically focuses on a client’s dysfunction, in order to transport him to normal function.
On the other hand, life coach training works with functional people who want to progress towards a higher level of function. Their objective is to excel and enjoy an exceptional life. Life coaching actually resembles the problem-solving methods that therapists use to treat people with minor psycho-emotional difficulties and stresses.
Nonetheless, life coaches further the process by helping the client to create a life that is resolute. In life coach training, rather than focusing on the negative aspects of a person’s psyche, a holistic approach treats the entire person. Instead of highlighting what a person cannot do, it helps the client to learn what he can accomplish. The result is that the person’s general mental health and life progress. In life, training can exist in several forms. Life coach training differs in that it trains for life itself.
